July was the month of fabulous and great sporting event - The Summer Olympics London 2012. Some of popular sporting events which made the show in Olympics 2012 included Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Canoe, Cycling, Diving, Equestrian, Fencing, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Modern Pentathlon, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting, Swimming, Synchronized Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Triathlon, Water Polo, Weightlifting, Volleyball and the Wrestling.
There were around 204 countries participating in London Summer Olympics 2012, wherein more than 10,000 athletes competed in around 300 events. There were new records set into action, whereas many of world's most well-known athletes lost and were not able to set any record. July 2012 Sports was all about the Olympics, more than anything else. The opening ceremony commenced with the remarkable speech from Queen of England.

London Olympics 2012 was a great sporting event which had many surprises as the new records were set by many first timers. It was a moment of tragic loss for some great sportsmen as they had to withdraw midway due to the physical deformities. London Olympics 2012 was indeed the great event and was enjoyed by millions of people in their home who remain glued to their television sets. The cheerleaders had their own amazing time entertaining the Olympic guests as well as spectators and the participants out there in the London Olympics, and of course the spectators had their eyes glued on them. London Olympics 2012 had something really great and remarkable happening events all the times happening around and in short spectators enjoyed a lot to see athletes and sportsmen performing to the best of their capabilities.

The top 10 winning countries which had highest medal records were US, China, Great Britain, Russia, Korea, Germany, France, Italy, Hungary and Australia respectively. United States won 46 gold, 29 silver and 29 bronze medals totaling the medal count to 104. China won 38 gold, 27 silver and 23 bronze medals totaling the medal count to 88. Great Britain won 29 gold, 17 silver and 19 bronze medals totaling the medal count to 65. Russia won 24 gold, 26 silver and 32 bronze medals totaling the medal count to 82. Korea won 13 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals totaling the medal count to 28. Germany won 11 gold, 19 silver and 14 bronze medals totaling the medal count to 44. France won 11 gold, 11 silver and 12 bronze medals totaling the medal count to 34. Italy won 8 gold, 9 silver and 11 bronze medals totaling the medal count to 28. Hungary won 8 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze medals totaling the medal count to 17. Australia won 7 gold, 16 silver and 12 bronze medals totaling the medal count to 35.

The grand finale of Olympics too was amazing. There were many spectacular events which took place during the Olympics closing ceremony and it was thoroughly enjoyed by the sportsmen from across the globe as well as Olympics organizing committee. Almost every second newspaper journal was loaded with July 2012 Sports News covering the London Olympics in detail. Whether it was swimming or Archery, or track and field event, the sports journals and the sports journalists were busy covering the events to their behest and with all the due interest. Great sporting events like London Summer Olympics 2012 are prestigious and hold special place for the sportsmen, the countries participating in it and of course everybody who is directly or indirectly linked to the sports.

With this season's biggest sporting event over, world is all set to look at the Olympics 2016 where again new world records will be set by the sporting personalities and the competition would be really tough one.
