Indian Premier League, 2012 or "IPL Season Five"
This cricket extravaganza, which is a fusion of cricket and glamour, started from 8th of April with a pompous opening ceremony. This forty-five day cricket tournament had nine franchisee teams participating this year. This year's Indian Premier League can be said to be more balanced in terms of the overall team compositions with no particular team being superior or inferior.

Weightlifting European Championship
The Weightlifting European Championship 2012, turned out to be the best in terms of the competition that was given by the participants from different countries. Russia topped the medal table with a total medal count of 31 followed by Azerbaijan, which got the second spot with seven gold medals, and the second runner up was Turkey with a gold tally of six and an overall medal count of 20.
European Championships in trampoline gymnastics
The European Championships 2012 in trampoline gymnastics was entertainment at its best. The event was held in St. Petersburg, Russia from 9th to 14th April, 2012. A total of around 1000 gymnasts participated in the event as far as provincial entries are concerned and that was a record. At least 120 gymnasts participated for the first time in the under-21 category.
In the girls' category, four countries contested the finals viz. Ukraine, Germany, Russia, Belarus, and Great Britain. Katherine Driscoll of Great Britain went home with the gold. The boys' category was contested among Ukraine, France, Russia, Belarus, and Great Britain. Russians topped the chart in this category.
In the end, it was Russia, which stood ahead of all of the teams by getting a total of eight gold medals. Russia was followed by Belarus, which had a gold tally of three followed by Great Britain with a gold tally of two and an overall tally of 9 medals.
Fencing
The Fencing championship was held in Kiev, Ukraine from 13th April to 14th April, 2012. The USA was on top of the medal tally with a total of two medals. The USA was followed by Russia, France, Ukraine, and Hungary with one medal each.
Asian Weightlifting Championships
The Asian weightlifting turned out to be a tough competition. It was held in Pyeongtaek, Republic Of Korea from 24th to 30th April, 2012. China topped the medal tally including "big" (total result) and "small" (snatch and clean & jerk) by getting 18 gold medals, 12 silver and 6 bronze, making it a total tally of 36 medals. China was then followed by Iran, which had a tally of 8 gold medals, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals making it overall 16 medals. Taiwan came third in the medals' table with 6 gold medals, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals with a total of 11 medals.
Judo-European Championship
The Judo European Championship was held in Chelyabinsk, Russia, from April 26 to April 29, 2012. The event saw an array of amazing performances by many participants. Russia topped the medal tally with six gold medals and a total of 11 medals. France followed Russia with a tally of 2 gold medals and an overall seven medals. The third in the medals' tally was Georgia with 2 gold and a total of 5 medals.
