Indian Premier League, 2012 or "IPL Season Five"
This cricket extravaganza, which is a fusion of cricket and glamour, started from 8th of April with a pompous opening ceremony. This forty-five day cricket tournament had nine franchisee teams participating this year. This year's Indian Premier League can be said to be more balanced in terms of the overall team compositions with no particular team being superior or inferior.

The Chennai Super Kings, who were being considered the favorites since the beginning of the tournament seemed out of touch with the game, as a unit. Somehow, they managed to pull their act together and pushed themselves to play the final with the Kolkata Knight Riders, who entered the finals for the first time in the five-year history of Indian Premier League. The match went down until the very last over and Kolkata Knight Riders won this year's title.
