SLPL 2012 Schedule

The Sri Lanka Premier League 2012 started with a bang on August 11 2012 in Colombo. The tournament is a twenty 20 cricket competition that will feature world class players from all parts of the world. This is the very first time that Sri Lanka has formed a league.


The league will feature top five capital players in the SLC. The league will have Shahid Afridi who is quite an attraction at the league. Jayasurya will be the star attraction. There will be many players from various countries and most of them are well known players. However, there will be no Indian players to play in this League matches as they are already committed to other matches.

The matches will be scheduled by day -night matches. The first tournament was held at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The first game was held between Nagenhira and Kandurata in Colombo. The second game will be followed by the Basnahira and the Kandurata teams. The total matches are scheduled to have 21 games in round robin league that will then be followed by the three knock-out matches. All the 24 games will be divided between the two venues as fixed earlier, One at Colombo and the other at Pallekele. Around 15 matches will be played on the R Premadasa stadium and the other at Pallekele. The association has announced that there will be two matches on each weekday and August 20, 21 and 24 will also see two matches being played.

The matches will be watched by millions of people all over the world, which is why the organization has declared the schedule for the fans of cricket all over the world so that they can take time off during the matches and enjoy quality cricket between the world class players.
