Gold medal
As a team, India has won gold in the following categories:
Women's 10 meter Air Pistol
In the individual category, Navdeep Singh Rathore has won gold medal in the Men's 50 m Rifle Prone category. Abhinav Bindra has won gold medal in the Men's 10 m Air Rifle category. Raj Kumari has won gold medal in the Women's 50 m Rifle Prone category.
Abhinav Bindra, who also won a gold medal in the Beijing Olympic Games 2008, did not miss his target in spite of a bout of fever on Friday, January 13, 2012. He defeated Zhu Qinan of China, a gold medalist in the Asian Games, in the Men's 10 m Air Rifle category by a mere margin of 0.3 points. This was his first gold medal in this championship.
