IPL 2012 Opening Ceremony

IPL (Indian Premier League), the biggest cricketing extravaganza is round the corner and preparations for the event are in full swing. IPL is one of the most awaited events of the year. The glitz and glamour surrounding IPL remains unmatched. The fact that several international players are seen playing together in India for the Indian cities and states gives a kick of excitement to the fans of the sport.

Right from buying the franchisees, acquiring players for an amount that cost a bombshell to organizing the event, a lot of money rides on the league. The fact that IPL has proven to be one of the most successful cricketing leagues -financially and in terms of mass involvement calls for admiration and additional responsibility to match the grandeur of the event in its previous seasons.

An important highlight of the inauguration ceremony will be MCC spirit of the Cricket pledge that captains of all the nine playing teams will take. A total of 76 matches will be played over a course of 54 days. The international pop star Katy Perry in a recent interview could not contain her excitement and said that she can't wait to give her first ever performance in India.

The opening Ceremony of IPL 2012 is planned keeping in view all these facts. The event is scheduled to be held on 3rd April 2012 in the ground of YMCA College of Physical Education in Chennai which is the home ground of the Chennai Superkings, the last season's winners. If all goes as per the plans, it will be give a grand start to the exuberant event. The biggest attraction of the event will be a performance Katy Perry, an American Singer, Songwriter and Actress. The fans of the star are expected to flock to the place. Other celebrities adding to the star presence at the event will be handsome Salman Khan whose performance will be choreographed by Mudassar Khan, gorgeous Priyanka Chopra and the Superstar of Bollywood-Amitabh Bachchan. Besides, Prabhu Deva will rock the event with his self choreographed act. Colonial Cousins (a band formed by Hariharan and Leslie Lewis and Ravi Drums) will also entertain the audiences with their performance. Several other national and international bands are expected to perform at the event.
